For Innovation Services: technology scouting and technology transfer
During 30 years as a Research Organization for the agri-food sector, Tecnoalimenti has acquired a wide horizontal scientific knowledge, developed a peculiar sensitivity for technology (interdisciplinary, lateral thinking, creativity) and established a wide network of national and European contacts at top level. Tecnoalimenti is ready to provide this wealth of knowledge to support business innovation.
Food Defense is an advanced requirement of agri-food markets stemming from research. It is aimed to prevent and protect the brand from voluntary contamination and tampering or deliberate adulteration of food products. By July 27, 2019 all companies exporting food products to the United States will have to implement a Food Defense Plan. The adjustment to the American legislation on Food Defense (FSMA-IA) requires an innovative approach as compared to HACCP plans. The new keywords are Threats, Vulnerabilities and Mitigation. Tecnoalimenti designs Food Defense Plans using FDA tools and methodologies acquired thanks to the direct participation to the European EDEN project. We offer our qualified support for each of the following steps of the development of these Plans:
- Vulnerability assessment of the specific plant
- Identification of mitigation strategies
- Definition of the monitoring procedures
- Awareness training of staff
- Implementation of the Food Defense Plan.
The Agrifood Technology Scouting is an innovative service of demand / supply interchange of know-how and technologies designed to assist the business in decisions about process and product innovation. The services provided by the platform Agrifood are articulated over three routes:
Route 1: Scientific and Technological Information
Service for the research of technical and scientific information by use of its own know-how and databases at the highest level. The service consists of different levels of detail and cost depending on the needs: technology scouting, information mining, search of topical information, research patents and expertises. The service can be extended up to a first contact with the company or the propriator of the information of interest.
Examples: Who has worked on high hydrostatic pressures applied to fruit juices? At what point is the knowledge about extraction of lignans from flax seed? There are on the market tamper-proof trays?
Route 2: Accompanying the innovation
Inter company, academia-company or expert-company collaborations facilitated by Tecnoalimenti. Support for the search of an expert or inventor of a new technology or of a co-developer of an innovation.
Examples: Where can I find who I can produce a vapour-CO2 extraction plant at reduced size? Can you contact the suppliers for a quote on my behalf? I have developed an innovative cap that I would like to present to the industry.
Route 3: Development of Innovation
Research and development in laboratory for the development and set up of the innovation.
Examples: The bleachings on the market do not solve my problem: I would like to find a bleach compound specifically for my production process. I can’t find a plastic bottle for a spray: need someone to develop it.
